Possibilities in connection with the profiling fund

You may be eligible for reimbursement from the profiling fund of your educational institution if you have a valid reason for falling behind in your studies. Such a reason might be that you are ill, have become pregnant or have a disability. To receive this reimbursement, you must meet the following criteria (at minimum):

  • You have paid tuition for your degree programme.
  • You are receiving financial aid.
  • You have encountered a study delay due to special circumstances such as a disability, illness or chronic illness or as the result of pregnancy and childbirth.

The profiling fund (profileringsfonds) applies only to fully funded universities and colleges of higher education. This obligation does not apply to non-funded higher education institutions

Accommodation schemes

The management of every educational institution must set aside financial resources in the form of a fund to which students can apply for support. Students can make use of this financial support when they encounter special circumstances. If you are a student and are unable to graduate within the official duration of your programme, you may be able to apply to this fund for financial aid.

Ask your educational institution for help wherever possible and make sure to report any problems you encounter as soon as you can. In many cases, a study adviser or student counsellor can refer you to someone who is knowledgeable about the financial possibilities at your school; they may also be able to help you apply for such aid, when you expect to incur a study delay, for instance. That way, you can avoid being too late in submitting your request for these accommodations!

Have a look at the other facilities, accommodations or schemes that might be helpful for you, too.
