Problems with social skills during your studies

If you have difficulty communicating or relating to others, there may be various reasons for this. You may find it difficult to make your meaning clear. You don't always understand others properly, or others don't always understand you properly. All this can affect your study performance.

Examples of social skills are:

  • standing up for yourself;
  • giving your opinion, showing interest in another person;
  • saying no when someone tries to persuade you;
  • presenting yourself in a positive way;
  • Dealing with criticism;
  • Having control over emotions;
  • asking for help.
